Pike Creek 10 Year Old Bottling Note

Pike Creek 10 Year Old is a top notch Canadian whisky which gets treated to a finishing period in rum barrels before bottling (previously Pike Creek was finished in Port casks, though the producer changed it to rum barrels at some point in the 2010s). Excellent stuff, and great value-for-money, too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Honey'd raisins and pecans, with a spicy little kick of herbaceous rye hiding in there.

Palate: Old-fashioned cola cubes, cardamom heat, caramel and a clear suggestion of good rum.

Finish: Lasting notes of brown sugar and dried oak.

Pike Creek 10 Year Old Reviews

Maple syrup.

A very decent canadian whiskey. Very smooth. Maple syrup. Rum casks. Sweet. Very light.

A commendable table whisky

As a Canadian I've been pleasantly surprised by Canada's burgeoning spirits industry. The masters tasting notes are spot on and pricing, at least in Canada, is fair.

Many folks like to keep a "table wine" ; something easy drinking, enjoyable, but not too precious. I would call the 10 year old Pike Creek a commendable "table whisky."

If you find it buy more then one bottle because everyone will love it

This is a very smooth affordable 10 year. The rum cast finish is outstanding.

smooth with a rum flavor and full body finish with a woody after taste

Another great Canadian Whiskey straight up .., smooth with a rum flavor and full body finish with a woody after taste. Try a snifter glass to really appreciate .

Not your typical Whiskey!!!

My hubby will only drink this. Even I can drink it. It's so smooth like a nice rub down rather than a punch in the face!!

Real heavy rum notes

Was gifted a bottle for Christmas and was surprised by how heavy the rum notes are: thick heavy molasses flavour. It genuinely does feel like drinking whisky with a dash of Kraken rum splashed in.

It's not unpleasant, enjoyable in fact. But very much a whisky I'd need to be in the mood for in the evening.

Port Finish is better

The port finish version was my go to. I recently was given the rum finish and I am no longer a fan of pike creek. The two are worlds apart in my opinion. Currently looking to find out where I can stock up on the port finish.

Smells like rum

Actually I was surprised at how much Rum this took on in flavour and scent, if you like Rum and Smooth Whisky, this is for you.

It's ok

It's not the best. Worth a try I guess but something just doesn't work. Maybe it's me I don't know. Taste OK but it's missing deep flavour perhaps?
