This limited edition blended malt Scotch whisky from Old Perth showcases Pedro Ximénez sherry matured whiskies. Plenty of sticky, sweet dried fruits and spices here, with the whisky bottled without chill filtration or added colour.
Raisins, spiced figs in syrup, dark caramel, and a touch of liquorice.
Dried cherries and currants, with malt loaf, hazelnuts, toasted coconut, and oaky spice.
Baking spices and some sweet marmalade.
As a NAS sherry bomb at cask strength.... this really delivers ! I bought one bottle initially & thought it so good i bought another & another. It's one of those bottles that is hard to stay away from & i've just ordered the last 2 bottles left on this site. The PX brings a lovely sweetness & doesn't suffer when a little water is added. If more becomes available = buy one, as you won't find much better (if any) at this price point.
Up there with the best single malts. At 56.2% it needs a little water to release all the wonderful flavours. Great whisky and one that I’ll be buying more of while it lasts.
Superb. Young whisky in decent casks beats old whisky in tired casks every time and this dram definitely stands up to that fact. If you're into the Lakes WMR series, or Glenallachie 10YO CS editions you'll like this a lot I think. In the current climate of escalating prices, I feel that this bottle represents excellent value for money personally. I'll be buying another bottle.
I have tried the other Old Perth whiskies so I knew I was safe with this one. Very rich, very powerful and loads of dark sherry. What's not to like?
