This is very complex, and I am only 28 but this is how I imagine a Vatted Malt must have been in the old days. Its more complex than these tasting notes, as fair as they are. A tiny dash of water, and smells like good aftershave, light black tea, green melon, lemon balm, a bittersweet ascetic thing to it and that's just on the nose. I was convinced to buy this from their stall at a Christmas Market back in December. I love whisky and generally go for single malts.
A really good: solid, fruity, Sherry forward Scotch. What it lacks in depth it more than makes up for in affordability. If you can find a cask strength single malt that comes close to this quality at this price, please leave a message below; I want some! Well worth a try! Especially if you only buy single malts but find the price hike’s disagreeable. Blended malts may be you new daily drinkers!
Received this as a Christmas present and was not disappointed! Needs a little water added to give the perfect dram.
Recently tasted in a blind group tasting up against some much more expensive whiskies - some single malts. Came out top!
