Well-aged single grain Scotch whisky, distilled all the way back in 1972 by the North of Scotland Distillery! After 47 years of maturation, this whisky was bottled up by Stillwater, with an outturn of 387 bottles. Nearly five decades of rest has resulted in a whisky that packs a fantastic flavour profile...
Buttery brioche, molasses, fried banana, red berries, mahogany.
Toffee Crisp bars, nutty brown bread, a hint of tobacco, burnt sugar, peach.
A long finish, with caramel and savoury oak remaining.
Was lucky to get a bottle as a gift. Opened it to share with family and everyone was very impressed by it. Buttery pastries, caramel, toffee, fruity, nutty, and everything good in between. Loved it!
What a beauty, very complex as you would expect for the age. Smooth as you like, loads of buttery vanilla, creme brulee and even a little smoke for me, which was unexpected but most welcome! And a very handsome bottle, looking forward to more releases please Stillwater.
