North British 38 Year Old 1988 Single Cask (Master of Malt)
A belter from the North British distillery! This single grain Scotch was distilled in 1988 and spent a mighty 38 years maturing in a single refill barrel. Layered with notes of maple, almond, and waffle, it makes a marvellous addition to our exclusive Master of Malt collection, with a total outturn of 276 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Warm waffles, drizzled with maple syrup. Dense and sweet. Toffee, chocolate caramels, toasted nuts, a touch of polished oak.
Palate
Slick layers of golden syrup and pancake batter cushion a flash of ginger heat, followed by waves of runny caramel, peanut butter cups, and dark chocolate truffles.
Finish
Waves of cacao and almond linger, warming spice fades, leaving supple brown sugar sweetness, crumbly tablet, browned butter, and a smidge of lingering ginger.
