This peated single malt from Taiwan's Nantou distillery joins the World of Smoke series from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Matured for five years in a bourbon hogshead, it's packed with coastal, sooty smoke, oily malt, and apricot sweetness.
Batch 3 is a release of 308 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fruity notes of grilled plums and apricots join, sweet, earthy peat smoke, oily malt, salted tablet, and a touch of smoked meat.
Palate
Vanilla cream and burnt caramel balance a touch of bitter oak and vibrant peat smoke, with waves of oily barley. Charred herbs and barbecued fruits develop in time, with burnt biscuits in tow.
Finish
Sweet and smoky, with waves of toffee, caramelised sugar, grilled pineapple, a flash of red chilli, and oak char.
