Nose: Melting butter, crushed almond and a little sugar dusted pastry rise through wafts of light oak and vanilla-y malt.
Palate: Rich sherried notes bring depth among earthy vanilla pod and stewed pear. Succulent toffee sweetness develops with tropical fruit and brown sugar in support.
Finish: Red chilli flakes and rye add spice and warmth.
Overall: Incredibly tasty stuff from Mortlach.
