Mortlach 27yo TBWC Bottling Note

The carnage continues in Dufftown. Is there a man strapped to that wheel the beast just rolled down the street?! Sparks are flying off of it! Oh, the humanity... It seems he can only be placated by delicious Mortlach single malt - the real life Beast of Dufftown.

It's a good job that the terrifying hell demon on the label is fictional, because we bet he'd do terrible things to get his hands on this particular 27 year old Boutique-y Mortlach, wherever in the world you took it!

Batch 2 is a release of 162 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Peanut shells and sultanas, becoming increasingly meaty with a little sugar dusted pastry also.

Palate: More dried fruit now with drying Oloroso fruit & nut character, great mouthfeel and clean, classic Mortlach character just beneath the surface.

Finish: Raisin and granola with hints of mince pies.

Mortlach 27 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Reviews

A great dram

Didn't find much meatiness or sherry but this is hugely floral and perfumed with lots of aromatic oak character. The price... Well, it's just a little prohibitive.
