20 year old Mortlach, independently bottled by Duncan Taylor as part of their excellent Octave range. This was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2017 after spending 8 months in a tiny octave cask. Only 74 bottles were produced.
Nose: Roasted peanuts and meaty malt, joined by chocolate shop aromas.
Palate: An intense whack of cinnamon and black pepper, tempered slightly by cookie dough and spun sugar.
Finish: Drying spices, more meaty malt.
