Mortlach 20 Year Old 1978 - Rare Malts
This twenty year old Mortlach was bottled as part of UDV's (now Diageo) Rare Malts collection in 1998 and is very rare - who'd have thunk it?
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Almost Sauternes like, with dense stewing tropical fruits and simmering treacle with raisins and spice scattered on top.
Palate
Rich and full-bodied with a pleasing flavour profile of dried fruits and spice.
Finish
The finish is long and lingering with notes of mead, mixed spice and sultanas.
Overall
An amazing whisky, so rich and full-bodied, it would make a fantastic after dinner dram.
