Reviews for Mortlach 15 Year Old (Gordon & MacPhail)
Perfect
The finest I have ever tasted. The wee witchee is great this is better

The 2.8 distilling makes it smooth like Irish. The sherry cask makes it rich

A perfect Carmel finish that coats the mouth

Nectar of the gods!!!

Lighter bodied
I felt it to be a bit bland compared to Balvenie Doublewood 12. Very smooth, long finish. Has a bit of a caramelly taste to me. Was a gift, enjoyable.

A true value and pleasure from amongst the Speyside offerings
I live in Kyiv, Ukraine (American expat) and we have access to a good bit of the G&M special bottlings through our Good Wine store. The Mortlach 15 is all that it should be silky, smooth, good oak with a hint of caramel, a long finish. Superb taste and value in single malts. Most enjoyable. We visited Speyside region in August 2016 and are planning a return trip soon.

Perfect
While I was in Edinburgh, a whisky salesman talked me into purchasing a bottle. What a great buy. Of all the scotches that I've tasted I really thought this was the best. I don't understand the 2 reviews about the sulphuric taste and smell but I will say I've had a bad bottle of Balvenie out of the many that I've purchased.

Fantastic dram
Amazing dram. Fantastic on the nose and great on the palate. A true all round experience for an amazing price.

Loved it
I was very happy with this purchase. Someone said sulfur? No sulfur here. Tasted it with Macallan. The Mortlach was superior. I'm going to get another bottle if I can.

Yum!!
Recommended by Strachan's of Aboyne and glad I am that they did - I love big spicy, deeply caramely speysides - this is just the ticket for an end of night dram or two after an evening out perhaps with a partagas d4

Unique Experience
Nose: Wagyu tartar, pineapple upside down cake, nutmeg, pumpkin custard, rainier cherries, plum blossoms...toasted malt reminiscent of olden days, honey, cloves. Palate: Very sweet! Also spicy, and somewhat salty and savory...Gingerbread men, vanilla frosted spice cake, nutmeg, marshmallow topped yams, maraschino cherries, fruitcake (a good thing here)...eucalyptus, wintergreen, hints of citrus, cream. High quality copper pot still qualities are evident. Despite such sweetness, somehow a nice balance is achieved. Richly complex and full of character. Long finish. Very unique, perhaps too sweet for some. Great price!
