A super rare Mortlach, released in 2002 and specially selected by the Distillery Manager at Mortlach. This was originally a staff-only bottling, though we have gotten hold of it now thanks to Diageo's rule that staff may sell their staff-only bottlings after they've retired. Thus, this is extremely unusual and a true find!
Nose: Vanilla, spices, coffee, peppermint, star anise and cinnamon on the nose (it's delicious basically), with a little wine gum and toffee apple character.
Palate: Citrus zests, bittersweet oak, cinnamon, tonic water, honey and sweetened lattes with nutmeg.
Finish: A long, malty finish.
