Midleton Barry Crockett

Released in 2011, Midleton's Barry Crockett edition was named after the distillery's master distiller, and it is aged in both bourbon and new American oak barrels! Very interesting indeed and a limited release of around 2,500 bottles per year.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Soft, sweet notes of barley, floral honey, rosemary, citrus, cut hay, Summer meadows and toffee apples.

Palate Sweet tobacco leaves and cedar, sugared peels, toffee, honey softness, vanilla and boiled sweets.

Finish Very creamy and vanilla-rich, cinnamon and a little pear drop on the tail.

Winner of 13 spirit awards

Reviews for Midleton Very Rare Barry Crockett Legacy
Not as smooth as promised
For the price, I was honestly disappointed. It has a nice aftertaste, which doesn't linger for long, though.

Beyond anything I’ve ever tasted. Heaven on earth, pure perfection. I don’t have enough praise for it. Superb excellence!

Try it, it's worth the adventure.
Absolutely distinctive taste right from the start. Smooth and interesting as one savours the uniqueness of this blend. Quite a feat for a blended Irish whiskey. We purchased this bottle as a group of 4 and hands down we all agreed that we got great value. We discovered it at a scotch tasting evening and never looked back. Kudos to Middleton!

Best of the best!
If there is a better whiskey out there then I haven't tried it! Perfect in every way, the complexity hits you from all sides leaving you wanting more with each sip.

Mellow and delightful
One of the best Irish whiskies I have ever tried. I never entirely understood all the descriptive terminology around whiskies until I had this delightful and savoury concoction. This is a slow drinker, every sip appreciated. I recommend it to everyone who has ever wondered if the higher price whiskies are actually worth the price, because this one certainly was (mine is now an empty bottle in a beautiful wooden casket).

Great, but the price...!
OK, let’s start at the top: £150 in the UK which is about $200. What do you get for your money? Well, first there is a very well made box, a coffin to hold the bottle in place. Oh, you want to know what the whiskey tastes like? Well, in my opinion, rather rough at first taste without water. Then, after a drop of H2O, a smooth, tasty, full-flavoured mouthful with a great lingering after-taste delighting my palate. This is such a good whiskey that I could imagine having one glass and no more as a digestif; well, more likely, two glasses of delight. But the price! Even as a fan of whiskey I could not imagine spending this much (although I have been fortunate enough to be given it as a present). And, for what it is worth, the BC Legacy is a monotone and I could buy wonderful complex Scottish malts for a lot less money.
