Michter's US*1 Barrel Strength Straight Rye (56.2%)
Full-bodied rye whiskey from the ever-excellent Michter's, bottled at cask strength - this time, it's a robust 56.2% ABV. Enjoyably toasty stuff, more than suitable for post-dinner drinks, and should make an excellent Manhattan.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Cooked berries, burnt oak, caramelised dates and a hint of cassia.
Palate
Cinder toffee, heavy rye spice with some oily grain texture, cinnamon gum and melted butter.
Finish
Lasting peppery heat and a hint of smoke.
