Description
How many Islay distilleries can you name? You probably just named the one that this mystery single malt came from, without even knowing it! Distilled in 1990, the whisky matured for 31 years, including a finish in an oloroso octave, yielding a total of 105 bottles when it was opened in 2022 by us right here at Master of Malt for our exclusive Single Cask collection.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Malty, slightly burnt biscuits, sticky toffee, and dates, with waves of sooty smoke, cedar, and beneath, a woody, floral note of redbush tea.
Palate
Green apples and pears lead to unctuous sherry sweetness, with buttery pastry, robust barley, and balsamic poached fruit bolstered by candied peels and sweet peat.
Finish
Silky layers of salted caramel and wood smoke, with the perfect balance of warming old oak, vibrant fruit, and drying, peppery peat.
