30 YO Speyside 3rd Ed. Bottling Note

A delightful 30 year old from our Secret Bottlings Series. This differs from our 2nd Edition by replacing the sherried grip with an incredibly fresh honey and malt.

Tasting Note by Jim Murray (Whisky Bible 2010)

Nose: 23/25 Not shy about its age, being happy to wear some oak creases with pride. But there is more glamorous granny than faded beauty as some sexy citrus tantalize…

Taste: 23/25 A softer, juicier delivery than you have a right to expect; the oaks arrives late and with good manners.

Finish: 20.5/25 Back to the fruit you pick up on the nose as light barley mingles with vanilla; a little furry late on.

Balance: 22/25 A character malt, performing all kinds of stunning Speyside tricks, but with the odd one falling flat on its face. Great fun.

Score: 88.5

Master of Malt 30 Year Old Speyside (3rd Edition) Reviews

Plenty of wood... you might expect. Honey, peppermint, spice with a hint of vanilla, and restrained sherry sweetness, oh so restrained. Mild mannered, classy and eminently suppable. Cav66
