Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series – London Edition
From Maker’s Mark’s Wood Finishing City Series, which also saw Singapore, New York City, Sydney, and Frankfurt editions in travel retail, we're glad to see this wheated bourbon titan honouring our shores with this limited edition. It's finished with a combination of additional staves chosen in collaboration with chef Douglas McMaster (Silo London), and our old mate and tip-top bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana (Mr Lyan). It's fair to say they know a thing or two about flavour!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted vanilla intertwines with orange peel, salted caramel and hints of floral sweetness. A thread of charred oak and tobacco leaf adds savoury depth.
Palate
Opening with orchard fruits and bright citrus before moving into warming spice, toasted marshmallow and honeycomb.
Finish
Lingering vanilla, peppery warmth and a flicker of citrus brightness.
