Mackmyra 9 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

This single malt from Sweden's Mackmyra distillery was treated to a rather intriguing cask finish, ending its nine-year maturation in a cask seasoned with Hojicha Green Tea! Unlike traditional Japanese green teas, Hojicha is roasted after the leaves are steamed. Along with removing all bitterness, the roasting process gives Hojicha its signature earthy aroma, its reddish-brown color, and its unique smoky taste. Subtle notes of earthen spice compliment fresh, tropical layers of fruit and vanilla here, and it makes a splendid addition to the Cinema Series from That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
