Svensk Ek, or 'Swedish Oak', is matured in barrels made from oak trees planted on the island of Visingsö centuries ago, oak originally intended for shipbuilding.
Sweet and spicy, toasted oak, lemon cake and apple pie.
Darker, earthier spices, cashew nut, toffee. Raspberry and black pepper. Milk chocolate.
Vanilla with hints of mint and chilli.

This is my first Swedish whisky, and had been eyeing this and others by Mackmyra for a while. Finally took the plunge and am very glad I did, really nice depth of fruity and spicy flavour, incredibly smooth, and most importantly, very easy to drink. I’m very curious to try more of their range, as well as other Swedish whiskies.
A fine whisky. Light and spicy and easy drinking. You can drink this anytime, its not just a jazz bar, wee, sma' hours type of whisky. I loved it and will buy it again.
Yesterday was the first time in my live where I have thrown away a whisky. For me this whisky tastes like death and i like smokey and spicey whiskys, but this one is not clearly not good.
New to Swedish whiskey. Wasn’t expecting much, but loved this one. Had to buy another just to make sure. Easy smooth drinking, toffee is quite noticeable, with a subtle chilli/peppery kick aftertaste tickling the throat. This bottle didn’t last long.
Absolutely fantastic, marvellous flavour and I am now converted to this superb Swedish export. What a wonderful present to receive or give.
