Macduff 12yo TBWC

That Boutique-y Whisky Company has bottled its 5th batch of Macduff, and this one is a 12 year old expression. Who's on the label, you ask? Well, it's none other than Macduff from Macbeth! He's enjoying a 'Duff and Duff Boilermaker, because we're sure that's exactly how Shakespeare envisioned his characters would be interpreted many years later.

Batch 5 is a release of 1,173 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Sweet floral, nutty malt and bruised black fruit initially. Burnt tobacco and roasted nuts add an interesting depth among vanilla, lemon sponge and a little herbal note.

Palate Cereal sweetness takes the lead, orange blossom, caramel and dry spice follow.

Finish Black pepper, a hint of brown sugar and more citrus.

Reviews for Macduff 12 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Characterful whisky with depth, flavour and a smooth finish
A final session of the year of our local U3A jazz group tasted this Bach 5 Macduff bottling.

The consensus of opinion was:- Nose: Sweet & Floral; Palate: Orange with a background of Nutty and cereal flavours; Finish: Citrus and peppery.

All found this to be different to many other Speyside whiskies with more finesse and depth to its character. Some remarking on the lack of peat and Oak (a Lawson character?). everyone gave this whisky their signal of approval.
