Mac-Talla
Single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed distillery on the legendary isle of Islay, released by the Morrison family - a name which has been in the Scotch whisky sphere for many, many moons now. This particular expression, named Mac-Talla Terra (Mac-Talla means "echo" in Scottish Gaelic, while Terra relates to earth), was aged in American oak casks, and offers up plenty of richly smoky peat notes.

It says 'Classic Islay' on the label, and they're not lying. Very drinkable Islay with balanced salt & sweet & peat & smoke. Balanced doesn't mean boring - it's just the basics done right. At this price point it's right next to Ardbeg and Caol Ila, and I'll definitely be buying it again.
Fresh, easy drinking peated whisky with good fruit and approachable smoke. This has become a new go to dram.
Received this whisky as a gift for Christmas and is something that I very much enjoyed. Having not long started getting into peat this would be a good entry point for people new to Islay whiskies and looking to get into this style. It has the peat smoke and saltyness I may expect from many Islay whiskies, but presented in a gentle, subtle way that makes it accessible and very enjoyable with or without water.
Great expression of an Islay whisky. Pleasantly sweet with a balanced combination of peaty smoke and vanilla. Nice finish. Very moreish.
Quite a nice Smoky, Peaty Whisky with a wooden taste at the end..... Good Value for money !
