Mac-Talla Mara is an Islay single malt which is focussed on the coastal deliciousness that you often find in whiskies from the famous Hebridean island. Though we don't know which distillery on Islay this whisky came from, we do know that it was drawn from American oak casks, and bottled at cask strength by the Morrison family, which has long been involved with the world of Scotch whisky.
Salted lemons, caraway, toasted teacakes with melted butter, seaweed.
Cask char and burnt ends, with a touch of honey. Still packed with sea breeze and maritime malt notes.
Petrichor, sea salt, a touch of smoky bacon.

Lemon/lime marmalade, beach bonfire, smouldering peat, pebble beach, oily mouthfeel, creamy almost buttery, an undercurrent of charred oak, some cured meat, sweet fruit and vanilla comes through. This is an absolute banger!!! Big thumbs up!!!
Phenomenal whisky, had a few bottles of this, one of my favorites, thick oily coating, chewy, cut through with that waxy lemon taste. The contrasting tastes and sensation are superb,as is the price!
I’ve tried a number of Mac-Talla expressions but this stood out immediately, it was great from the get-go, but the addition of water released a plethora of complexities too numerous to mention. I don’t think I’ve ever had a whisky impress me so much in such a short time. I couldn’t fault this… all I’d say is go and treat yourself because for the price nothing comes near it.
great dram way to go all the Islay stuff, peat sea breeze some citrus notes a little sweetness very well rounded. Gave it 4.5 stars because i found the finish a little short ,if not 5 stars for sure
Bought for a friend who was very impressed. This is now one of his favourites at any price.
