Longmorn 11 Year Old 2011 (cask 9065) - The Whisky Cellar
Superb single malt Scotch from Longmorn, distilled in 2011 and matured for 11 years. The whisky was finished in a duo of ex-sauternes wine and ex-oloroso sherry casks, imparting delicious layers of candied fruit to the delicious malt. Independently bottled in 2022 by The Whisky Cellar, with a release of 295 bottles.

Nose
Buttered shortbread, toasted coconut, and honeyed sponge cake bring a sweet start, with floral barley and zesty citrus in tow.
Palate
Rich, oaken vanilla kicks things off, followed by candied orange peels, juicy dates, and creamy apricots. Layers of pastry sweetness and woody spice develop, with peppery warmth building.
Finish
Candied nuts, soaked fruits, and vanilla linger, while that spicy pepper heat intensifies.
