Loch Lomond Grain Coopers Bottling Note

Kicking off what will become an annual series of limited releases, overseen by Loch Lomond's master blender Michael Henry this is the first addition to the Cooper's Collection. Distilled from 100% malted barley, it's categorised as a single grain whisky since it was produced in Loch Lomond's copper continuous Coffey still (had it been produced in a pot still, it would be classified as a single malt). After an initial maturation in American oak casks, the whisky was treated to a finish in Japanese Mizunara oak casks imparting elegant layers of woody spice to the fruity, floral grain at its core.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Sweet notes of nougat and floral honey, forest fruits, and rich oak char.

Palate: Baked apples and pears, dusted with cinnamon are followed by roasted almonds, and a touch of cedar.

Finish: Drying notes of stewed tea and oaken spice, with caramelised biscuits and cakey spice.
