“Really enjoyable smoother than the 12 which I also like. The citrus is subtle but distinctive in the aroma when you add a little water. The flavour does have a touch of spiced apple and there is oakiness that is not so much vanilla but more like butter with a hint of orange zest. This is nicely balanced not too sweet , not too dry or spicy but satisfying. ”

14-year-old single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery, matured in American oak and finished in Limousin oak casks. Expect a fruit-forward dram here, with plenty of apple and citrus in there along with helpings of runny honey, soft cinnamon, and a gentle smoky note.

Apples, orange, grapefruit and a hint of sandalwood.

Palate

Caramelised dates, fresh pear, spiced apple cake, and just a touch of anise.

Finish

Cinnamon and clove, tempered by juicy apricot, with toasted oak.
