Inchmurrin 12 year old from Loch Lomond distillery, rebranded in 2015 as part of the Inchmurrin 'Islands Collection'. Which is rather apt, as Inchmurrin is the largest freshwater island in the British Isles, and it sits in Loch Lomond! Coincidence? We think not. Anyway, this wonderfully creamy single malt was produced on Loch Lomond's unique straight-neck stills and aged in three types of American oak cask to showcase the fruity, sweet elements of the distillery's signature style.
Creamy sweet cereals and allspice. Hints of toffee apples and pear drops. A little caramel and furniture polish.
Smooth, rich palate entry with barley malt and salt caramel. Dried herbs, candied peels and allspice.
Medium-long finish. Spicy.

Wonderful smooth whisky and credit to this fabulous distillery
Another suprise from Loch Lomond, very fruity and complex, a bit harsch but in a positive way, one of my favourites this year.
