12 year old peated single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery, released under the Inchmoan name. Just another example of how adaptable Loch Lomond's set-up is - they're able to make all sorts of styles of whisky, from single malts of all flavour profiles to tasty blends.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Mint leaf, burnt wood, a hint of medicinal peat.

Palate Spicy as it opens, with plenty of black pepper and cinnamon. Soon enough, layers of toffee develop to balance it out.

Finish Fruitier notes arrive on the finish.

Reviews for Inchmoan 12 Year Old
Fruity & Sweet Peat
This is a top whisky from Lochlomond. Using their combination of swan neck and straight neck stills they are able to get a great combination of taste in their spirit. With the 12 years in different oak you get vanilla custard with a sweet peat taste. There is some lovely orchard fruit in there. Also a bit of a Clynelish waxiness in there. Really good.

Great whisky
I had inchmurrin 12 on the past and it didn't meet my expectations. So when this was available I wasted no time to dig in. The nose is bonfire, peat and spice, on the palate it gets accompanied by vanilla and cinnamon. I do love this. My favorite 12 year old from now on. Absolutely fantastic whisky. Loch Lomond you got me...

Not my bag.
I bought this on a recommendation as I like a peated dram. But I couldn’t get into it. There was an underlying taste and smell that seemed to conflict with the smoke. And I can’t put my finger on what it is?
Maybe some people like that kind of thing but it didn’t agree with my palate.
Having said that I’ve not got to the shoulder yet. So I might go back to it in due course and give it another go. If you like a heavy smoky malt then you might find it is agreeable to your palate.

A wonderful dram
A wonderful dram. Subtle peat with baked apple and cinnamon notes. A lovely smooth sipping whisky - it needs no water. Could easily become a favourite of mine.

Excellent 12 year old
Woodfire to the nose, smoky and spicy in the mouth but nice and subtle, ending with a sweet finish. A fantastic find that punches above its weight.

Excellent
The best way I can describe the nose is like a cross between cinder toffee and Walkers prawn cocktail crisps. Unique and stunning. Lovely rich and oily mouth feel. Well worth taking a punt

Amazing stuff
Wow what a great introduction to the Loch lomond range. This stuff is a belter. Lovely rich oily mouth feel. Fiery as hell for a 12! Might suspect youth or a higher abv in a blind taste. Caramel on the middle palate followed by fruits. Smoke and peaty tang to finish. Reminds me a little of an argbeg. Maybe the wee beastie? Great value for money. Makes you want to go back for more instantly. Will have its place in the collection now for sure.

An excellent 12 year!
I love this single malt. Received as a gift from my daughter returning from Scotland. I’m getting burning driftwood and fresh kelp. Waves of nostalgia for me as I grew up in Pacific Northwest. A bittersweet experience as I’m not sure I can buy it in the US.

Pleasing addition
Beautiful dram, spicy on the tongue, but also vanilla sweetness, smells slightly maritime to me, nice fruity notes too, a very pleasing addition

I have joined the Inchmond family and i'm here to stay.
A friend introduced me to Inchmoan 12 Year Old about three months ago and since then i'm hooked on it, its one of the best that i have had so far.
its a pity i'm struggling to get it in my area unless i order it from Cape Town.
