The Fèis Ìle 2018 release from Laphroaig was another instalment of the Cairdeas series (it's kind of pronounced like "car-chase"). For this expression, the intense Islay single malt was given a finishing period in Fino sherry casks.

Nose
Burnt grass, almond butter, toasted teacakes and medicinal peat.
Palate
Nectarines and apricots arrive first, shortly followed burnt caramel and flamed orange peel. Another whiff of heavy peat and savoury oak.
Finish
Baked earth, iodine, honey, peaches and cream boiled sweeties.
