Laphroaig 14 Year Old Willem Dafoe Limited Edition
Laphroaig's unyielding flavour somtimes bends towards the unhinged, so it makes sense to team up with one of the most unique, intense actors in the world. The legendary Willem Dafoe joins the Islay distillery to help select a 14 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, matured in American oak before a finishing stretch in oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at a punchy 53.7% ABV with no chill-filtration, of course. The famous actor also helped to design the packaging, which looks unlike any other whisky Laphroaig, or really any distillery has released.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
The aroma is sweet, featuring a delicate floral fragrance with hint of sweet pea and jasmine. There are underlying notes of burnt caramel, contributing to a rich and deep olfactory profile. Earthy and menthol notes, intertwine with hints of seaweed and beachside campfire smoke, adding complexity and depth.
Palate
On the palate, flavours of muscovado sugar and salted caramel emerge, complemented by coffee grounds that add a rich and robust character. Smoke sits in the background and rounds of the taste.
Finish
Never-ending and mouthwatering, leaving a lingering impression that invites another sip.
