Langatun Old Bear (40%)

Peated Swiss single malt whisky here from the Langatun distillery, which was reopened in 2007 (and dates back to the 1850s!). Triple distilled and matured in Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine casks to compliment the elegant smoke.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Robust malt arrives first on the nose, followed by a light whiff of medicinal peat.

Palate Peat becomes earthy/leafy on the palate, and is joined by red wine juiciness and a hint of white pepper.

Finish A long finish of sweet smoke.

Reviews for Langatun Old Bear Smoky (40%)
Pretty amazing
Tried this one at Whisky Weekend 2019 in Amsterdam. It was on my list for a while and I was not disappointed. Beautiful smoke, great finish. Along with the Glen Scotia Victoriana, this was the highlight of the evening!

Not interesting
Can't agree with The Chaps. Nose was very modest, no peat discovered, a bit of leather, perhaps. Very short, barely noticeable finish. Sorry guys, not impressed.
