Description
Swiss single malt whisky here from Langatun, this expression was distilled from malted barley that was smoked with birch wood during the kilning process. After maturing for five years in a Chateauneuf du Pape wine cask, it was bottled up by That Boutique-y Whisky Company for its World of Smoke collection.
Batch 2 is a release of 249 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Juicy peaches and apricots join a touch of hay with mellow oak, sappy syrup, candyfloss, and softly floral malt in tow.
Palate
An interesting combo of delicately sweet, soft stone fruits, and elegant, light woods. Notes of boiled sweets lead to cherry drops, and vinous fruit, with drying oak beneath.
Finish
Gently tannic on the finish, that wine cask shows itself with more sweet fruit, backed birch syrup, a crackle of pink peppercorn, and a warming touch of clove.
