Description
Here's the 2016 release of Lagavulin's Distillers Edition single malt, which was distilled in 2000 and finished in Pedro Ximenéz casks before bottling in 2016. 2016 was a big year for the distillery on the south coast of Islay, as it celebrated its 200th anniversary, as referenced on this whisky's label.
This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Well-roasted barley and wafts of iodine. A creaminess of vanilla and yoghurt coated raisins.
Palate
Seville orange and cherry. More medicinal peat and a touch of seaweed. Dried apricot and chewy pecans.
Finish
Long and satisfyingly smoky.
