First taste experience from Laphroaig fiend

Very nice surprise, a purchase my wife made after learning our local liquor store was out of Laphroaig. I was craving some peat, but no mention of this was found on the box, though smoky was a clue. After two minutes of online research I learned that Lagavulin offers both the presence of smoky and peaty. I'm no connoisseur (but I know some things to say) and found it very inviting and nice on the nose. My first sip introduced quite an intriguing dance and warmth to anticipating tongue! Initially I found the sweet hints a slight bit of a nuisance, but did not take much time to become welcomed to the palate and nose. If you like peaty and would like to add a single malt with nice composition to your cabinet, you will not go wrong with the Lagavulin Offerman Edition!
