Kyrö Peat Smoke Malt Rye Whisky
A peaty treat from Finland's Kyrö Distillery Company, this expression is produced with 100% Finnish malted rye that is smoked using Finnish freshwater peat. The wholegrain rye malt spends 24 hours being peat smoked in a barn before distillation, and plenty of vegetal, softly smoky peat character has carried through to the final spirit, bolstering the warming rye spice and waxy, citrussy notes at its heart.

Nose
Damp, vegetal peat brings notes of moss and dried leaves, joined by toffee apples and a smidge of black pepper.
Palate
Sweet notes of honeyed pumpernickel, candied oranges and lemons, and toasted spices are backed by dampened bonfire ash.
Finish
waxy hints of snuffed candle and charred herbs join peppercorn spice for the finish, with a trickle of honey sweetness standing firm.
