Grew On Me
Seemed like a very good bourbon the first bottle I received as a gift, but not memorable. Later, received another bottle and found my appreciation grew. Bought the third and fourth. Presently my favorite, by far. Strong flavor with complex character, many interesting changes between the attention getting beginning and the most satisfying finish ever.

Not sure why so many people seem to like this
While the bourbon is obviously quality, the taste just isn't there for me. It has a harsh mouth feel, a strong burn, and no overtones other than from the "burnt barrel".
I've tried it with neat, with a little water, on the rocks and nothing helps. I like lots of different whiskies (Scotch and Bourbon) but I'd rank this one as equal to or less than regular old Jack Daniels (Black) or Jim Beam and definitely not worth the extra price. A real disappointment. I wish you could get your money back on whiskey.

waste
Purchased a bottle of this in honor of my 27th birthday. This was supposed to be my birthday drink. Upon first encounter with nose, very disgusting. Nothing special. I threw the remaining 3/4ths dowwn the sink and enjoyed something crappy that turned out better than this!

Still my go-to whiskye (intended)
While I love some of the scots and ires for their flavuors and complexity, I keep coming back to this one for its simplicity. Yes I'm obviously American (formerly), but to be noted I can't stand most typical American varieties and my only other 10/10 on this site is the Laphroaig QC which is completely different. This one stands out with its caramel goodness with a perfectly balanced kick of heat. The single-barrel reserve takes it up a notch even farther if you can find it.

It is fairly light in color, golden and welcoming.The nose has a strong alcohol presence; there are sugary notes, strong oak presence and spice.
the oak notes blend nicely with the scent of vanilla and caramel. Light scent of old oak and must. The taste comes off sugary at first but quickly makes it’s spicy, oaky notes known. Butter and oak come through with a sugary sweet taste that feels dry and lingers through the finish - BeerandWhiskeyHQ
