I wasn't lucky enough to get it at retail price, so I had to overpay some 20%. Colour-wise, it’s noticeably darker than the Kilkerran 12, as expected. The nose brings smoke and sherry. On the palate, the sherry is nicely balanced—not too sweet, but not muted either. If I had to pick out a specific note, I’d go with stewed apples. The finish is slightly oily, with perhaps a hint of wood polish, although you really have to look for it. Overall, I’m quite pleased with it, though I wouldn’t be willing to pay more than £100 for a bottle.
