Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old
Kilchoman Distillery sits amongst the traditional buildings of Rockside Farm on the
north-west coast of Islay. This release was made from barley grown on the farm over a decade ago, malted and peated to 20ppm, then distilled in 2015 and matured in bourbon and sherry casks for 11 years. Finally, it was bottled non-chill filtered, no colour added, at 46% ABV. Everything taking place on site at Rockside Farm. The label carries the signatures of founder Anthony Wills and distillery manager Robin Bignal.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Orange, lemon peel, fragrant elderflower, honeyed sweetness, and maritime smoke.
Palate
Citrus, tropical fruits, barley sugars, toffee apple, salted caramel sweetness, and subtle peat smoke.
Finish
Butterscotch, notes of walnuts, lingering juicy citrus, and stone fruit.
