Kilchoman Machir Bay Cask Strength
Kilchoman's Machir Bay single malt is excellent already, but the Islay distillery decided not too long ago that it could take things up a notch with an annual release of a limited edition cask strength bottling. That is what we have here, matured in bourbon and sherry casks (predominately the former) and bottled up at 58.3% ABV with no chill-filtration or additional colouring.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Lemon peel, orchard fruit, oak char, and grassy peat.
Palate
Oily orange is joined by more earthy peat, dried fruit, and peppery spice.
Finish
Long and full of spice.
