Kilchoman 9 Year Old 2008 - Founders Cask Release
A 9 year old single malt from Kilchoman - the first in the Islay distillery's Founders Cask Release series. There will be five more Founders Cask Release whiskies, each one selected by a different member of Wills family. This particular expression was chosen by Kathy Wills, the wife of the distillery's founder, Anthony Wills, and "the un-seen heartbeat of the distillery" according to the back label. It was drawn from a sherry cask that was laid down in December 2008 and cracked open in January 2018.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Earthy peat and sweet citrus notes.
Palate
Rich fruits, sweet peat and spicy dark chocolate.
Finish
The finish is long and balanced with the sweetness and the smoke.
