The Sound is the entry level expression from Isle of Jura's Travel Retail range, all of which feature whisky finished in casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry of various ages. This particular single malt was finished in casks that matured 15 year old Pedro Ximénez sherry. Sadly, there isn't a whisky in the range called The Fury to pair this with.
This is easy to drink. Not bad as neat, but gets better with a few drops of water. Cherries and oak on palette followed by a nice long finish.
Fathers day present and although an ex licensee have not tasted this one before. Really enjoyed the smooth taste but can't work out the background flavour.Different for this none expert! A most welcome addition to my preferences!
I bought this for 32 euros on a special offer, I’m not a specialist, but I love single malt, I thought this is the smoothest, silkiest single malt I have tasted so far, I have a bottle of 12 year old double cask Macallens that my son bought for me that I haven’t tasted yet…
