Jura 16 Year Old - Diurachs' Own
This charming bottle of 16-year-old single malt from Jura takes us back to the 2000s, before the core range underwent a revamp. A nice find for a retro collection or whisky tasting.
This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fragrant, slightly floral cereal, some minerality at first, becoming increasingly creamy with a hint of orange. Mixed nuts, redcurrant, green apple and finally dark chocolate and spice.
Palate
Oily and resinous with sweet tobacco, mixed nuts, clove, milk chocolate and violet. Rich and round.
Finish
Drying, fragrant oak. After a few sips some chocolate lingers too.
Overall
The whisky of choice for the Isle of Jura's 200 or so inhabitants.
