Blended
Scotland

These limited edition bottles of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve look like they've been handled by King Midas himself! Who knew he worked in Johnnie Walker's bottling department? The Gold Label Reserve is a brilliant blended whisky, which includes single malt whisky from the Clynelish distillery.

In comparison to the black label for price though , not any better , a bit more of a sharp and fruity taste more akin to green label I've made my way through four or five of these bullion bottles ?nice drink but weirdly no age on the bottle , I heard they were running out of the original whiskies they used in the predecessor gold label reserve
This is ok. Just ok. Tastes a bit too close to JW Red to justify the price. The rather gaudy gold bottle reminds me of a B&H fag packet from the 70s - like a gold medallion on the open necked shirt of a wine bar poseur- trying a little too hard. There's a hint of smoke in the background (but not like the great Black label)' and a sweet finish. It's not particularly subtle or complex, but perfectly drinkable and lovely and smooth. JW Blue is still king of the range, and Spice Road is wonderful. This Gold variation is good, but not excellent, and I'm not suitably inspired to get it again.
Really smooth love it
My almost preferred blend so far, after the blue label... Bottle is in glass with a thin gold like cover in aluminium/metal.
I was given a bottle and been told that the bottle isn't glass. Is this true?
