Paul John 6 Year Old 2009 (cask 534) - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Paul John 6 Year Old #534 Bottling Note

We've independently bottled an Indian single malt whisky from the folks at John Distilleries in Goa! This was distilled in October 2009 and matured in first fill bourbon barrel #534 for 6 years, until May 2016. We bottled it at cask strength for our Single Cask Series, without any chill-filtration or additional colouring at all.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Butterscotch and oatcakes. Savoury fennel notes develop, with a hint of bison grass. Slightly chocolate-y.

Palate: Spicy with cinnamon at first, alongside a touch of anise. Toasted sugar, hot peat and fruity touches of guava.

Finish: Vanilla custard atop sticky toffee pudding. Still rather spicy, too.

Reviews for Paul John 6 Year Old 2009 (cask 534) - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
Can they do no wrong?
Seriously - these Paul John boys have delivered some of the best drams I've tried in the past few years. The richness, intensity, and downright excellent value for money (even at what I'll admit is quite a punchy price) is something to behold.
