J.J. Corry Anfa Bottling Note

The Chapel Gate whiskey bonders teamed up with Drinks by the Dram to create Anfa, a rather superb blended Irish whiskey! Made with a selection of single malts and married with grain whiskey, this expression has been named after the Irish word for 'storm', a reference to Ireland's windswept coastlines.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Tinned peaches, sliced pears and a hint of cloudy lemonade. Soft malty hints bring balance to the fruit notes.

Palate: Red apple, toasted barley, biscuit dough, pepper, paprika and honey.

Finish: Lingering hints of cooking spices (paprika again, and a touch of ginger), alongside another wave of fresh fruit.

J.J. Corry Anfa Reviews

Decent but overpriced

If this was a sub £60 single grain Whisky I would be raving about this, but at £150 I would feel a bit ripped off. There are so many great value offerings from the likes of Girvan, North British and even the Teeling single grain if you want Irish that deliver similar flavours at half the price.

Fantastic!

Had a tasting in November was a fabulously smooth Malt with just a small hint of a Grain.....
