Bain's Cape Mountain whisky is matured in first fill bourbon casks for an initial three years before spending a further two years in fresh first fill bourbon casks! It's named after the chap who built the first roads in Wellington.

just came back from South Africa yesterday Cape Town and my brother who lives there actually recommend that i should maybe just try this so purchased a litre bottle at airport current exchange rate it worked out about £18 and must say have thoroughly enjoyed a few drams tonight
Had this bottle bought for me fron SA as a present as they know I like whisky wow !!!! Superb grain whisky like it a lot its somewhat different from some of the scotch whiskies i like but none the less a good drinkable whisky. Will have to find a local supply to me as it is very moreish so people like me give it a go you wont regret it.
Something different. A New World Whisky unlike any other. I heard about this when it won best single grain whisky in the world (2013), piqued my interest. Finally getting around to try it. Pronounced fruit and smooth. Would buy - good entry level. Skeptical on where to place it, as its one of the only new world whisky that's not trying to replicate what Scotland or America does. Try it for yourself - may not be for everyone.
Its one of my favorite whisky's given that unlike other Bourbons, you can actually enjoy it just o the rocks and the fruity flavors are super pronounced. I love Bains a chilled day and when taking a break from the peated Islay malts which are my favorites
Tried this from my advent calendar. very light and smooth. would be a great introduction for the non-whisky drinker!
