12 year old Irish single malt whiskey, produced for the Jack Ryan whiskey brand, which was revived in 2013 to celebrate the 100th birthday of Ryan's Beggars Bush pub in Dublin. The Ryan family has a history with whiskey bottling, though the distillery which they produced the whiskey in association with, closed in 1946. This is a 12 year old single malt, matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled without chill-filtration at 46% ABV.

Very similar to Yellow spot - perhaps the spirit is from middleton? Leads with peaches, apricots & tropical fruit all over your mouth - rich with bourbon oak. Immediately very attractive, however the fruit quickly drops off & the oak remains somewhat unbalanced & almost tannic. Until you have another sip and that fantastic apricot again takes over. A million miles from anything Scottish. Definitely worth trying.
I really enjoyed this. Never heard of Jack Ryan before but glad I tried some. Reminded me of Glengoyne 10. IMO. It’s very sweet and smooth. The taste is full of vanilla and treacle syrup. I almost get a popcorn taste coming through as with Glengoyne 10 but this is a far superior whisky. Lovely and enjoyable. P.s no peat or smoke with this one.
Recently returned from a trip to Ireland and was recommended this whiskey at two separate locations. It was excellent as an after dinner drink, neat.
I enjoy a good whiskey in the evening and this is one of my favorites.
Great aroma and taste with just the right bite to enjoy a nice nightcap. I recommend adding 3 drops of water to awaken the tastes.
