Isle Of Jura Seven Wood Bottling Note

You may have guessed it already from this expression's name, but the Isle of Jura Seven Wood is made with whisky drawn from seven different types of cask. There's American white oak, and six other French oaks, Limousin, Tronçais, Allier, Vosges, Jupilles, and Les Bertranges. Intriguing stuff, this.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Nutmeg, strawberry jam on toast, Brazil nuts.

Palate: Lemon peel, sawdust, apricot and cooked peach.

Finish: Heavy vanilla. A hint of smoke develops.

Isle Of Jura Seven Wood Reviews

Really interesting whisky!

I was really intrigued by this whisky, it is apparently made with whisky drawn from 7 different French oak casks and it certainly does not disappoint! There is a whole arrays of different flavours and delivers something new with every sip. Its very well balanced, rich and smooth with a slight spicy kick.

Definitely one to add to the collection!

Bought for me by my wife as l have been longing to try a dram for ages. It lived up to expectation. A lovely smooth finish, light on the palate.

Wonderful light dram with just a hint of smoke

EXCELLENT DRAM!

I received a bottle for my birthday, I just love the Jura range, however the Jura Seven Woods is an excellent dram and a really enjoyable malt whisky

Great bottle of sheer indulgence.

I love smooth whiskies whereas my hubby loves the Leary ones. He bought this as a gift for me and I have to say, I am over the moon with it. It has to be one of the smoothest, most delightful whiskies I’ve ever tasted.

Muddled flavors

I am a huge fan of most of the Isle of Jura whiskeys, but not this one. For me, the flavors are very muddled. I had the same experience with the Balvenie Triple Cask, which uses the same approach of finishing the same scotch in multiple casks, then combining.

Light, creamy, smooth

I was expecting a heavily Oak taste approaching a bourbon much like many multi-wood scotches tend to be. I was very pleasantly surprised. A very mild creamy introduction developing in the back to a smooth, slightly sweet, minimally oaky, a little fruit, and very little peat for a Jura. I like it!
