***OOPS*** We should have known better than tempting the dark arts with an ABV of 66.6%, but you may notice we screwed up distillation and bottling dates. Humans, eh? But fear not! The age stated IS correct, and for those of you who MUST know the right in/out details this devilish beauty was distilled 27 Sep 2011 and disgorged 14 Oct 2024. *****
Invergordon. Invarioubly awesome! This one is no exception. Distilled in September 2011, this single grain Scotch spent 13 years maturing in a refill butt, bringing waves of buttery brioche and banana alongside hints of herbaceous mint. A total of 661 bottles were drawn from the cask in October 2024, and they make a fine addition to our very own Master of Malt collection.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
That strength shows itself, but then things open up with syrupy sweetness, almond sponge, dense vanilla, and buttered brioche. Maple granola and wood polish.
Palate
Robust, almost like a punchy rum, with a lick of burnt brown sugar, trickles of caramel, and sweet notes of banana and vanilla. It's bold, with peppery, woody spice, kept in check by the creamy grain.
Finish
Banana bread, French toast with vanilla cream, prunes, a touch of menthol and clove right in the depths.
