Inchgower 14

The Flora and Fauna series is a sadly discontinued range of whiskies, each with an illustration of an animal on the bottle. This Inchgower is very rare.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is quite light and delicate. There is a zesty tang with notes of sugary citrus, hints of stemmy hay and a gentle breeze pushing barley in a Summer field. Tones of blossom and apple peel with cocoa. The palate is fresh with hay and petals, notes of arak and well-balanced tannins. There are some spicy notes with cystallized stem ginger. The finish is of medium length with spice and a tangy citrus note.

Citrus!
I originally had a sample of this through a Whisky monthly club, enjoyed it so much I purchased a bottle, then heard it was going to be or was discontinued, so bought another, 1 to keep, 1 to drink. I'm still surprised that a Whisky can give Citrus taste... This is fantastic, get it while you can.

Get it while it’s still here
Lovely coastal example from the Flora & Fauna series. Understated but it has become one of my favourite malts.

My first Flora & Fauna
After adding a tiny dab of cool water, I get a little spicy hint of citrus and ginger, and right on the end I get (call me mad) grilled pineapple. Beautiful stuff.

Pleasant surprise
Another good option in the Flora and Fauna series. Very herbal and minty on the notes of dry white wine. Touch of ginger and the slightest pinch of salt in the end. Recommend it.
