Highland Journey Blended Malt - Journey Series (Hunter Laing)
A blended malt Scotch whisky from Hunter Laing, the company started by Stewart Laing after he and his brother Fred Laing went their separate ways in 2013. Highland Journey is made with whiskies from a selection of Highland distilleries, which have been matured in both American oak and Spanish Sherry casks.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Freshly baked brown bread, vanilla fudge, floral heather, and red apple skin.
Palate
Surprisingly sweet at first, with a big slice of lemon drizzle cake up front. It then swiftly develops bold, spicy notes of cinnamon and cracked black pepper.
Finish
Medium length, with honeyed barley and crushed almonds.
